The project will also improve pedestrian and bus access to the site on the south east edge of Magherafelt and deliver additional parking spaces and a new roundabout.
The team selected for the estimated £305,218 contract will draw up plans to extend the single-storey special needs school which originally opened in 1993, has already received several modular expansions and is now in need of further enlargement.
‘Projects are to be delivered in accordance with RIBA Plan of Work Stage 2 – 7 as outlined by the Business Case. In addition to this, the projects are to be phased completion and delivered by May 2026. This includes obtaining statutory approvals.’
Bids to deliver the upgrade contract will be evaluated 50 per cent on quality, 10 per cent on social value and 40 per cent on cost. Applicants must hold employer’s Liability Insurance of £10 million, Public Liability Insurance of £10 million and Professional Indemnity Insurance of £1.7 million.
